Book Cover Design
The following are front and back cover designs for six books written, designed, formatted, and edited (and soon to be published) by yours truly. Click to see enlarged versions.
"Burn Before Reading"
A novella in six parts. This design was inspired by the iconic appearance of classic pinball machines. This design was constructed using Adobe Illustrator.
"The King of Wooden Spoonists"
A book of five plays. This illustration pays homage to an old-school product and advertisement design aesthetic and was made using both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
"The Capgras Delusion"
A book of four plays. This design was inspired by vintage comic book covers and advertisements and was made using a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
"The Inhumane Treatment of Seafood"
A book of twenty very short plays. This design was inspired by the appearance of typewriter keys as well as juxtaposing symbols to imply correlations even where none are expressly intended. Made with a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
"Akinetopsia"
A book of six plays. The cover is based on the universally recognized design of playing card face-cards. Done primarily in Adobe Illustrator, but with some Photoshop embellishments.
"The Passive Resisters Soccer Club"
A book of twelve short plays. The goal with this book cover was to break all the rules of design: too many fonts, too many patterns, too many colors. Made with a combination of Photoshop and Illustrator.
Student Design Work
"Tangier's Cigarettes"

"Pynchon's Rainbow"

Student Newspaper Design
I produced the following front-page newspaper designs using Adobe InDesign during my tenure on the Austin Peay campus newspaper "The All State." The photographs, some text, and some graphics were contributed by the newspaper staff (attributions are included in the text on each file). Click to see enlarged version.
